We are proud to be the exclusive growers for the Red Prince apple in the Canadian market. Orchards were originally planted in 2001 by Marius and Irma Botden in Thornbury, Ontario, and we have since partnered with orchards in Nova Scotia and Quebec to expand distribution in response to growing consumer demand. Red Prince apples are harvested in the fall and stored like a fine wine until their taste is at its peak – coming out fresh every January! We’ve secured our place as Canada’s favourite winter apple, with a crisp, snappy flesh and refreshing sweet and tangy taste.
Red Prince apples are well-rounded with a slightly oblate shape and distinct colouration. Venetian patches of red peek through a blanket of crimson, an eye-catching combination of two very beautiful, rich shades of red. This versatile apple is perfect as a snack and is a wonderful addition to sweet and savoury recipes. It cooks down into a wonderful sauce, tastes great as juice and pairs perfectly with sharp cheddars and blue cheeses!
