A cross between a McIntosh and a Red Delicious, the Empire is a medium sized apple with an almost perfectly round shape. It is mostly dark red, with a bit of green and has firm, cream-coloured, flesh that ranges from mild to tart. The Empire apple makes a great choice for salads and snacks. We supply this apple to McDonald’s restaurants for their Happy Meal Apple Slices!
